This weekend I went to the exhibition BODYWORLDS 3 and found it fascinating if macabre. I got to see close ups of real digestive tracks in incredible detail, including the villi in the colon.
I've been amazed with how much pain in how many places my MC could cause, not to mention what was going on from stomach to rectum with food whizzing through without stopping. Also I had a CT scan for the GI to check out my pancreas and spleen. All these places are really just names and a vague idea of where they are and what they do. Getting MC has taught me more about what happens to my food but even so, it's not exactly real.
BODYWORLDS had complete digestive systems and organs, from stomach to the other end, plus organs that were sick as well as healthy. I got to see a real colon stretched out, inside one, plus the organ in situ (wow, a lot is crammed into a small space!). And they had cross sections too, hence seeing the villi.
I now have a much better understanding of what's going on inside!
Seeing what my insides look like - amazing exhibition

Wow - I bet seeing that makes it easier to understand all the problems we all complain about! How educational!

"Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die; so, let us all be thankful." -- Buddha
