A little bit exciting

Post by Gabes-Apg »

there is still the excitement about Tex's continued recovery and fingers crossed he does come home tomorrow (or at least out of hospital and to somewhere he can get some decent MC allowable food)

an exciting event of the afternoon for me is 'the man' who is still in the 'he is a keeper status' rang me today and asked that if he wanted to organise a night away would i cope food/eating wise.
I said that i could easily take enough of my staples for things like breakfast and would brave having a meal like meat and salad for dinner.
and give me 2 days notice so i can ensure i eat only good foods for this time ane ensure i totally minimise the chance of D

it is valentines day this weekend in australia so this is a little bit exciting - It has been at least 6 years since i have been away for a weekend with a man.

step one - on the way home from work went to supermarket, stocked up on GF/YF/LF staples that i can take with me

step two - Lunchtime tomorrow i am thinking i might have to dash to the shopping centre (translation the mall) and get a 'proper' nightie. My current pj's ](translation nightware) is not suitable for a night away with a man, it is more in the category of what a MC sufferer you would wear if you were in hospital! Covering everything from neck to knee.

step three - get lots of rest, avoid stress at work so that my digestion is settled. and tell the demon IT IS NOT ON THE INVITE LIST FOR THIS WEEKEND!!!!

Gabes!

How exciting, and on Valetine's weekend, too! Do you know where you will be going? Somewhere romantic?

Have fun shopping for some new nightwear! And this fellow really does sound understanding and flexible. I will stay tuned for further updates.

Love,

Polly

I hope you have an absolutely wonderful weekend with your guy. He definitely sounds like a keeper.

Hope you find just the right nightie.

Thanks for sharing, Gabes! Many of us ladies have had to deal with not feeling as attractive as we would like, between the discomfort and fatigue and dramatic weight loss for some. You are an inspiration, moving on in very positive way after getting control of your MC.

Even at my age, my DH gets that special twinkle in his eye when I get a new (non-granny :knitting: ) nightie! Now if I could just get him out of those dorky old sweatpants that he wears in the winter.......I know, some boxers with hearts for Valentine's Day! :pinkvalentine:

WOW - I am so excited for you! A weekend away with a "keeper of a guy who understands your needs" is so exciting! I wish you luck in your shopping at the shopping centre for your proper nightie! That's always a good time! :) See..........I can talk Ausie too! :)  Gabes, you are such a delight!

I expect to hear from you on Monday! Enjoy your valentine! (It is Valentine's Day on Sunday in the USA also!)

Love and hugs,
Mars

Hi Gabe sounds quite exiting!!! And also it is so funny to read, yes of course you can go as long as it is okay to bring your own food
GO, DF, SF, EVE etc etc etc. I hope it will be great weekend, it is the company the counts and the time you spend together, food is just something besides, yes well you also have to eat, but you are not going away for the food.

I am also learning different types of English here too  I had never heard of the existence of slang before until last year, my neighbor is from the UK and he explained it to me. What do I know about those things. I just wonder is there a big difference in language use in UK English (what I am most familiar with thanks to having a next door neighbor from the UK), US English and Australian English. The funny thing is with Dutch, spoken in the Netherlands and Belgium, countries so close to each other and so much differences in languages use. Not so much in official written Dutch, but in daily spoken and written language. Different word choice, expressing themselves. I immediately can see if it is written a Belgium (=Flemish) person.

the way you are talking about your night ware or jpg, well same story with me, long sleeve to-shirt, jpg trousers and above all socks. But I am not going away for a valentine weekend.

I like the way you are approaching your MC and how you try to coop with it in your daily life and above all how your write about with that great sense of humor and a bit of self spot.

THANK YOU everyone for your support i will keep you updated......

Rosie
you have summed up the last couple of weeks. which is why i want to make the effort this weekend.

the other weekend, there was some D present, and i was really overtired after getting a bit stressed at work.
Basically i was dosing on the lounge and getting up and running to the toilet, coming back and dosing again.
the man was on the lounge also, watching the cricket (equivalent of US Baseball) each time i came back he would rub my back and he could see how draining the situation was. the fear of 'accident' is still there in these situations so the granny nightware is necessary! (i am pleased you called it that i didnt want to offend anyone)

love heart boxes for valentines sounds perfect for your DH!!!

there is a huge difference between English UK, English American, English Australian.
most australians are genetically linked to the UK, but majority of the shows on our TV are American.
English australian we spell words differently ie color and colour mom and mum etc

Probably similar to the States, across australia there are different slang words depending on what state you are from

In the state of Victoria it is a slab of beer
In the state of NSW it is a carton of beer

southerns states say sneakers
northern states say runners

southern states say cantelope
northern states say rockmelon

there are heaps more.

update:

Plan A for the 'real nightie' purchased failed, they only had stuff for bean poles (skinny petite types) or you had to be a millionaire to be able to afford it...... there is a Plan B for second location to go shopping.

Got given some 'hints' as to location.
It is by the sea (mindful .....it is still summer in australia and daily temp is about 86 degrees F)
and we have to leave 'early' on saturday morning which is quite funny as I am the early bird (irritatingly happy first up in the morning) whilst he is not a morning person - so it must be about 3 hours away i think....
he said organisation is still in progress.... not sure what that means....

I am known as being a bit of a control freak (ok major control freak and queen of organisating), so this a bit different (mmmm maybe borderline frustrating) for me to trust someone with organisation of something.
i am proud of myself as i have managed to hold my tongue and not ask questions, and wait for the snippets of information.

Gabes, "granny" is a state of mind, not an age! Last year when I was struggling with LC, and tired all the time, I sure didn't feel very romantic. Looking back, I realize that about 3 months after I started my GF/DF/SF menu the fatigue had lifted and all of a sudden I was interested in shopping for more stylish clothes (and nighties) and got excited about trying a new type of make-up, mineral makeup that I really like, instead of the traditional liquid foundation. Whereas before I would often go out in old clothes without paying much attention to my hair and face, I now find that I am taking a lot more interest in my appearance. I have also gotten on a modest exercise program. It's all a sign of finally feeling better, and I look on the money I've spent as an an investment in my heath, or at least that's what I tell myself!

Of course a new love interest doesn't hurt either, although I'm perfectly satisfied with my old love interest.........

Along the same vein, gluuen intolerance has been associated with a decreased libido. I know mine improved some months after I eliminated all gluten.
