Magical Weekend - a bit excited Ch 3
Hi Everyone,
Tex - hope you are feeling fighting fit - great news re odor etc
Snow Bunnies - hope the weather settles down for you soon and life is not soo challenging
Gloria - hope you are feeling better
Dee - great news re the dinner!!
Everyone - Happy new year (chinese new year) wishing you all happiness and contentment for the year ahead.
*sigh* i had a totally magical weekend!!! the Demon stayed away totally (WOO HOO)
The Keeper (TK) had spent considerable time and energy to ensure the weekend went well for me (diet wise etc) he was a bit frustrated when it rained on saturday and it made it impossible to wander the markets that we went to, as his aim was that the weekend be perfect.
Dinner saturday night was amazing, the Restaurant owned by Coeliacs. instead of the menu having one or two GF options, the whole menu was GF! there was only 3 items that were not GF. (things like bread for starters etc)
I got to have the most devine Duck for my main (best duck meal i have ever had ever) and we shared a GF desert. we had a lovely table overlooking the beach (all pre organised by TK) knowing the focus of the restaurant was GF etc and that they are very diligent about food intolerances it was easy to relax and just enjoy it.
an hour later when there was no issues with the digestion, i really relaxed, and of course the next morning when there was no signs of any issues, i was doing the happy dance. TK didnt understand this celebration, i tried to explain that given the way things had been pre xmas, to eat out and not have any adverse effects is a huge milestone.
TK had not planned anything for Sunday 'just in case' i had a bad reaction. The rain had gone, the sun was out, and I was fine, so we got organised and went to the beach. of course i had all my staples with me and LF milk to have a coffee etc.
TK made the comment that with a small amount of planning then getting away is easy. (i think he had the perception that it was borderline impossible!!)
as long as i have some prenotice so that i can ensure i have staples etc precooked and ready to go then it is all good. he also commented that my attitude to my situation also helps (and that i am a super organised person), with minimal effort i carry with me snack bags of foods and LF milk and dont make a fuss.
as i reflected last night - i remember tex's words to me when i first joined this family.... you will get your life back, i was a little bit skeptical about this statement but inspired by the people, the love and support of everyone in this family I applied myself to the management of the demon
I realise now i am not getting my life back, I am getting a far better life given to me!!!
Have a great week everyone.

Gabes,
I had the shimmer of tears in my eyes when I finished reading your post. Your positive attitude and take charge has really worked. I am so happy for you (and TK). I am glad this was a super special Valentines Weekend.

with the tweaking of my life to suit MC, the delight of going away for a weekend and enjoying a meal out has so much more importance with the delight it brings.
My life now seems more grounded, more real, and i find happiness in the simplest of things. we put alot of energy into MC management (and all the other side issues going on.....)
to alot of my friends it was 'just a weekend away' they dont fully understand what a milestone that is like my MC family!!
