ANT--ARTICLE on your New Year-in our PAPER

YEAR OPENS WITH A ROAR~~~
They are ringing in the year of the TIGER in lower MANHATTAN---(thats where I grew up)
ReveLers packed the narrow streets of CHINATOWN yesterday to celebrate the beginning of the LUNAR NEW YEAR---and kick off the year 4708 on the calendar used by Asian countries including China and Viet Nam
Men dressed in red -----banged drums and cymbals as brillantly colored dragon puppets paraded thru the confetti-strewn streets.

New York City has 5 boroughs---which are Brooklyn---Bronx---Staten Island --Manhattan and Queens--

When I say I am from New York--I should add the borough of Manhattan--but born in the GARDEN STATE of the world--BROOKLYN__
People laugh when I say --BROOKLYN =cus than U are TOP BANANA!!! I think thats where I got my accent---when I spent my first 5 years of life there!!!

I was so Xcited to see this little piece in our paper---and I could just picture our Chinatown--

thought this would bring a smile to your face~~~

Dear Barbara,

Good to hear that New York's China town had a ball. Last night there was a HUGE fireworks display in Hong Kong habour. I heard it, but did not see it, sipping some wine at home (my flat does not have a "harbour view"... As you would say that is only for TOP BANANAS.)
