"Oily Rag" = fag (cigarette)
"Plates of Meat" = feet
"Pony and Trap" = crap (poo to you and me!)
"Porky Pies" = lies

I was born in London, two of my grandparents were born in Australia and their daughter (my mother) was born in New York. We do all have a common, yet diverse, living language and it is certainly fun to try and keep it all alive!

Somewhere, I have a book of Cockney slang that I got on my trip to London with my sister. She lived there for a year and a half a long time ago. She was a wonderful tour guide and could get us around on the tube easily. We still have some relatives there.
