Wow! A Care Package All The Way From Australia

Post by tex »

And filled with goodies I've never seen the likes of - Outback Animals, a wallabybar, Choculence, Jelly'gnite, a couple of Sweet William bars, an Apple, Apricot, Banana, Popcorn, & Fruit Bar, etc. I've never seen anything like this stuff in this country. There was even a small kangaroo named Hoppy. (Thankfully, no drop bears). I couldn't resist trying something, so I ate a Macadamia & Honey bar - it was excellent, of course.

Lyn,

Thank you, thank you, thank you. You've made my week with all these Aussie Goodies, (of course, it will take me a lot longer than a week to eat all of it). I'll have to ration these, to keep from gaining too much weight, but with the extra energy it will provide, I should be good as new, in no time at all.

Many thanks,
Tex

P. S. You spent a lot of money on this, (the shipping alone was pretty substantial.). I really appreciate the thought, but you shouldn't be squandering that kind of money on me. If you'll give me an estimate, I'll be more than happy to reimburse you.

P. P. S. And thank you so much for the great get well card, also.

Oh goody. It arrived - hopefully intact.

Of course, I am just the poster for all the Aussie contingent. We thought some Aussie gf goodies might help your recovery along. We had a chat about what to send, but I couldn't fit everything in - so I get to eat through the bits that wouldn't fit

Did you know Macadamias are native to Australia? I buy them by the kilo and roast them at home. My mum called them bush nuts, cause she would just go out in the bush and collect them from the wild plants.

Choculence is one of the gf equivalents of timtams. So now you can try the timtam slam, if you dare.

I'll ignore the money comment. Gifts are meant to be gracefully accepted.

Tex,

So happy to hear that you got your package. Every now and then I get one from England with GF goodies and ration the heck out of them. They far surpass our selection in many ways.

Also understand the cost of shipping since I send monthly packages to the UK. outrageous costs.

Enjoy all those treats.

Love, Maggie

In that case, my sincere thanks go out to all Aussies, everywhere. Yes, the package arrived in good condition, and the contents will indeed help to fuel my recovery.

No, I didn't know that about Macadamias. You have a lot of plants over there, that we don't have here, I believe.

I'm afraid that package of Choulence will probably be open, before the sun goes down. What's a timtam slam?

I do appreciate it - thanks to all of Australia - especially the Top Sheilas on this board.

I truly appreciate your thoughtfulness and your kindness. As dedicated as you are, it won't be long before the demon will be out of your life, hopefully forever.

The timtam slam

http://www.ehow.com/how_4716831_do-tim-tam-slam.html

Works best if you refrigerate the timtam so it's cold, and use it to suck up a hot drink - hot chocolate is best but coffee is also good.

It is actually quite tricky to do. Half the fun is in how messily you fail

Hmmmmmm. I'm not sure I'm up to that, yet. I'd better leave that trick to the pros, for a while, at least. I've gotta try to make these last as long as I can, and I'm guessing they disappear pretty fast, once you start slamin' 'em.

Ummmmmm. I just tried one, and I can see why they're so popular - it was all I could do, to eat just one. In fact, I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to restrain myself from sneaking another one.
