Saying for today
today the digestion is semi good (hooray)... albeit the workplace is the troublesome part and wearing me down today.
i went searching for inspiration to get me through the next 3 hours. I realised that this saying applies to both our MC management techniques and my current situation at work
Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did...newt gingrich

Actually, my days have been pretty good. I've been lucky. Compared with active MC, my past few weeks have been a piece of cake, as far as the way I've been feeling, is concerned. So don't ever hesitate to complain about the symptoms of MC - few things can make you feel as miserable as MC.

I think what hits me for a six (aussie slang referring to the game of cricket, equivalent in baseball would be like being hit out of the park )
i have always been a very organised person, and like to have risks managed, and things under control.
with the MC no matter how organised i am and diligent i am i dont have total control. I am doing my best to accept this and deal with whatever happens
to have a situation at work that is the same - have put alot of energy, and time to achieve a good outcome and then have the rug pulled out and the outcome was totally out of my control cheeses me off!

Yep, it is those pesky things out of our control that challenge us. I like to think in terms of what we are supposed to learn from them. Patience? Turning the other cheek? Tolerance? Learning to put things in perspective? Forgiveness? If I try to think of each situation positively as a learning experience, it seems to help.

Gabes,
I used to be a control-freak, (perfectionist), also, but 4 or 5 years of active MC cured me of that - it taught me to just take it one day at a time, and I still follow that plan today.

ok i have another 3.75 or more years to go!!!
yes... **sigh** i have realised the biggest component of my transition to full acceptance of the MC is giving up my perfectionist tendancies for the following traits: -
- being in total control
- being super organised (ie i used to have meals, outfits everything planned for weeks ahead)
- always being there and not letting people down
the road to transition or transformation

Gabes, I'm with Tex.........one day at a time. I am a global customer service manager for an oilfield company
so my day is full of unhappy customers. I also believed this is what got me into trouble (2 promotions in 3 months and didn't want them), because I was not handling the stress very well. Since becoming sick a year ago, it took me a long time to recognize "one day at a time" and not one minute more. So when I get up in the morning, I look for the positive for that day (and it may just be the sun is out) and that I am going to return home to a caring family. I do the best I can for the customer and then let go and not take it home.
I would have chucked this job six months ago, but as always, there is a silver lining in everything. This illness has taught me a lot about perseverence, patience and mostly harmony. I too was a control freek, but not no more! I only need to worry about my actions.

Thanks Tex, GInny and Ant. this conversation has helped me through the week and value what is important.
Pre MC if i had a bad day at work i would treat myself to some take away and have a glass of wine.
I have realised that another part of the transition/transformation to this better life, is finding new releases and relaxations.
last night i went home and made yummy GF/YF/LF rolls
(it is using a special pre mix that which even more exciting was on special 20% off!! how exciting is it when one our products is on special!!! )
the smell of something yummy cooking, and that i have snacks for the weekend prepared, helped alot
thanks again to everyone....
