Absorption and adrenal fatigue
Morning everyone,
I'm feeling a bit stumped about how to treat the adrenal fatigue I've had for years if I can't really handle the supplements and my body isn't absorbing much of the supplements I can handle. I've read quite a bit on adrenal fatigue, and it seems obvious that colitis would follow, since my body isn't making enough cortisol to inhibit the inflammation in my gut. So the question is this: have other people found ways to treat the adrenals without supplements? I'm seeing an acupuncturist, and it's great for my body in many ways, but I haven't seen a change in my colitis or fatigue or anxiety (the daily anxiety attacks jump started the adrenal fatigue, I'm sure).
Thanks! Determined to figure out what to do about all of this . . .
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth.
I gather you are looking to approach the problem from a different angle?
Have you tried Bach remedies? They have a combined one called Rescue Remedy which is useful to have around.
Here's a site with some info on Bach remedies for Anxiety:

What about trying a homeopathic remedy:
http://www.holisticonline.com/remedies/ ... opathy.htm
Physical therapies such as massage, bowen, craniosacral therapy, rolfing etc all have a strong impact on anxiety for some people, or can be a useful adjunct.
Look at the current topic on dealing with stress - maybe there are some ideas in there that might suit you.
It might be that addressing the anxiety would improve the other issues.

a few years prior to my MC diagnosis i had some adrenal fatigue and cortisol issues (my body did not produce enough cortisole when under stress) the doctors could not give me a reason why.
I took quite a few natural minerals/supplements for this (my best friend is a naturopath) took me 6 months but i did get vast improvement.
at the moment i am concentrating on cell rebuilding and reducing inflammation, the next regime i am going to start is adrenal rebuild.
the discussions on this site and what has been mentioned about adrenals, it is on my list to research more

Polly,
bobh posted a lot of information about adrenal fatigue. Is he the one you're thinking of?
http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewt ... al+fatigue
I believe there was someone else, since then, but I can't recall who it might have been, at the moment.
Love,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
