It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Thanks so much for your birthday wishes. I had a really great day. Lots of good wishes from family and friends including my dear PP family! And I had a bit of a party last night, including a surprise "birthday cake" of nuts, dried fruit, coconut milk and cognac.......(definitely no gluten or dairy).....
Well today, (day after birthday), 1 week into being on 1 Enotcort per day and 45 days from coming off 3 Entocort per day, I had "D" for the first time since 12 January.
Today I took 1 Entocort + Bosewellia and added 2 Pepto Bismol and 2 loperamide. Objective: try and stop any possible flare in its tracks. I will know soon if this is a "one off" or the beginning of a longer term problem....
It might just be due to the nuts, dried fruit, coconut milk, etc. That's pretty rich fare, unless you're used to all those items. Dried fruit, for example, contains a lot of sugar for it's volume, and a lot of fruit is high in sorbitol. Sorbitol in any significant amounts, still gives me D, and I wouldn't be surprised if that were true for a lot of us.
Hope it's just a one-day event.
Love,
Tex
