I'm Home Again

Post by starfire »

Hi Friends,
My trip to Pensacola was very nice and very needed (by me). Had an extremely good time visiting with Mike, Caren & kids too.

Mom will be back home on Saturday and in less than a month we will be leaving for Pa. so I have plenty to keep my body and mind busy. HaHa

I almost postponed my trip because I stopped for breakfast on the way out (yes, I was "bad") and almost immediately had D. However, I decided to take the chance and just keep going and it worked out just fine.

Still taking 1 Asacol a day and 4 Boswellia Serrata tablets. I can't decide whether to go "off" the last Asacol prior to leaving for Pa or not. I'd like to but don't like "problems" on a car trip (not that any of us do). I know I should be taking more Boswellia but for some reason I have a really hard time taking meds more than morning and night. Perhaps I should just take 3 at a time instead of 2.

I'm still not sure if the Boswellia is helping but I certainly don't think it's hurting in any way.

I read a lot of the posts but I'll probably never get through all of them.

A question for those of you who know about auto's. My "check tire pressure" light came on (auto is a Buick) while I was on the interstate. I stopped at the next exit and had the pressure checked. Guy said it was OK since they all seemed to be about the same. I don't know a lot about auto maintainance - should I just assume that it was some sort of "computer glitch" or should I try to get it checked out somehow. The man reset it and the warning stayed off.

I'm not asking anyone to devote time and research about this. Just thought someone might be knowledgable about the subject.

Hi Shirley,

It's good to hear that you're back home, and I'm glad that you had a nice, relaxing visit with your son and his family.

I checked with my mechanic, (he has his own shop, now, but he used to be a certified GM mechanic - for all I know, he may still be a certified GM mechanic, because he goes to GM's update training programs, regularly, to stay up with the latest technology). Anyway, he said those systems are kind of finicky. For example, if you change a tire, or rotate tires, it can show a "check tire pressure" warning, when nothing is wrong. Some of them display "check tire pressure" warnings, if there's only a tiny pressure difference in one or more of the tires. Also, those systems "learn" the position of the tires, so that if you rotate the tires, it will give warnings based on the old tire position on the car, rather than the new position. IOW, if you rotate the LF tire to the RR, and then that tire loses pressure, the system will incorrectly report that the LF tire is low, (unless/until it "relearns" the new position of the tires).

Since you apparently didn't have a low tire, and resetting the system seemed to resolve the problem, he said that he would just assume that it was a fluke, and he wouldn't be concerned about it. If it does it again, the system probably needs to be analyzed with a scanner, to track down the problem.

Thanks for the insight on your results with Boswellia.

Love,
Tex

Thank you so much, Tex.

I guess I'll just wait until it happens again (maybe it won't). The only other time it happened (a few years ago) I had a nail in a tire. At least that's what they told me. HaHa I imagine I did. That's why it really made me nervous.

Glad you're home safe and sound and had a good time. Is this coming trip to PA the one where you're moving back for good?

I had to postpone the permanant move till November (best guess - nothing like jumping into winter with both feet) due to a longer heal time than I was expecting for my last two implants. I decided that I'd just go on up for a few months and take care of things there for the summer instead of postponing the move until fall.

I'll be back in Florida the first part of Sept for no less than 2 months - no more than 3. Unless something else comes along to change my plans, that will be the final move.
