dreaming of food

Post by harma »

This morning I was walking a department store where (before the MC and gluten free live) I so now and than I bought a very big delicious chocolate croissant (with a lot of chocolate on and in it). For a moment I was tempted to buy one. Not like really considering doing it, or having a whole conversation with yourself why you want it and should not do it. More in a flash, immediately followed by "no not option anymore".

But also for a moment, I was afraid I would loose my self control and do it. Quite strange

The same feeling comes to me often in dreams. I eat of lot of 'bad' food, pasta, bread, candy bars, cheese...followed by the voice "don't do this" "this is bad for you" but I still keep on eating it. At the moment I wake up it even takes me couple of seconds to realize I was dreaming and nothing bad has happened. But in my dreams it is scary how real it feels.

Am I the only one experiencing this, or do others recognize this?

I don't normally remember my dreams....... I only say that because they say you do dream even if you don't remember, but I really can understand what you are describing in the awake hours. I have discussions with myself quite often and not just about food.

Hang in there.

Hi Harma

Chocolate croissants were one of my favorites. Great on a lazy Sunday morning. In my waking hours I am often tempted for a couple of seconds.....and then I think of D and it wipes the thought away very quickly.

I do not think I dream of eating all the old foods, but I could imagine why people would. I often dream of other things I had in life and now miss.

the dreams are not about gluten food in particular (or milk or soy or other bad MC things), it is about doing something real dumb, knowing this very well and still doing it. Loosing self control.

HI Harma,

I dream an awful lot and well remember them when I wake up. At times I feel burdened by remembering all of the dreams. However, I cannot remember a dream where I have ever eaten - very strange!

There are times when I miss foods but as a norm I have an OK time handling it.

Harma,

Yes, I have dreamed about eating something that I shouldn't, such as a sandwich, for example. I don't feel that I was specifically making a big deal about the food, though, because it has always been a part of a much more complex plot, and I didn't even particularly crave the food, I was just nonchalantly eating it, without even thinking. And, every time that it has happened, it dawned on me what I had done, and I thought, (in my dream), "I must be getting senile, to be so careless".

I have no idea what a dream like that means. Maybe it means that I'm worried about my memory deteriorating.

Ha ha ha
i thought i was going crazy.....

i see tv ads for take away food (foods that i never ate prior to having mc) i see the advert and i think wow that looks really yummy......
i wondered if it is the temptation of the forbidden.....

Ant - plain criossants were my once a month weekend treat (as i have avoided gluten/wheat for 10 years)

Strangely enough in the past couple of weeks i had had dreams that involved an ex husband and situations from when i was married (it was an abusive relationship that from the day i walked out it took me 5 years to attain true freedom)
my assessment of the dream is do i want to go back to the way things were? no
i figured it was my subconcious telling me that current flare and hard work will be worth the freedom when i get it

cant have the rainbow without the rain.....
