It's Earth Balance, the kind Dee first told us about a while ago.

I know, MB, I don't like it either. We are not alone.

I also check out Wal*Mart Watch from time to time. Very eye opening. How they treated their employee who was in an accident was sickening. Public outcry was the only thing that got them to do the right thing. UGH.

BTW, I called my Sam's Club and asked a manager if I could get my money back for my membership card. He asked why and I told him because of how the company was treating Debbie Shank and her family. He didn't even know of the situation. He checked it out, though. I also signed the petition and wrote letters.

I went to this web site and Earth Balance margerine is soy and gluten free. Contains lactic acid from non dairy source, whatever that means. Will check if my grocery store has it and if not will make a trip to Walmart.

Just a note of caution, the Soy Free Earth Balance contains pea protein, and some of us who are soy intolerant also avoid other legumes because of cross-reactivity. I for one react to items that contain pea protein and garbanzo bean flour. That means that most of Bob's Red Mill GF mixes are also out because they rely on garbanzo bean flour in their mixes. I have had good luck with the Namaste mixes.
I use Ghee for a butter/margarine substitute. It is just the butterfat, and is lactose and casein-free. I can buy it at Market of Choice, and some people make their own. It works great for cooking, but is hard to use as a spread because it is rock-hard coming from the refrigerator.
