Weekend Retreat

Post by Laurie »

I continue to feel better every day on the GF and mostly CF diet (except for the M&Ms I occasionally sneak). No headache today or last night - thank God!

Read the Idiots' Guide to Gluten Free and another G-Free book.

Trying to navigate this diet - getting bored with tortilla chips as my main staple. Had a big salad last night - may have been a bit too much veggies for me as my stomache was a little bothered, but not crazy. Need to get to the store and start looking at options.

Tomorrow I leave for a 3-day womens retreat with my church friends. The menu looks horrible for me - lasagna, bisquits & gravy, etc. It is at a nice YMCA Camp/lodge, but I can't imagine they'll have GF options and definitely don't make things to order! Also really missing my diet coke (silly, huh?). This will be interesting for me to try to maintain my GF thing for the next few days. I hope I don't succumb to the temptation of yummy things and make myself sick!!!

Thanks again for all the info - I would NEVER have tried this if I had not stumbled on this site.

Laurie
can you ring the retreat organsiers and ask if you can bring your own meals?
given you are feeling better and you are headache free it would be a shame if things deteriorated

be careful with M & Ms they may have gluten via glucose derived from wheat etc

I dont react well to raw veges/salads. body is happier when it is overcooked.
