Back!!!

Post by angy »

Hi guys!!! hope you are all well.....

Sorry yet again for my length of absence from the site....not intentiona i can tell you...

Life and work have been pretty hectic and i get tired all the time....muscles ache like hell and i just wannna stay in bed....

This past week has consisted of stress and anxiety for my work colleages...we have been through the preocess of redundancies ( labour govt and their greed...cutting the fundings for community care)

Out of 12 support workers only 8 have remained...and this was done through a scoring process...even though i have been there 15 yrs this had no effect on the scoring...fortunately for me i have been given a new contract solely based on my high scoring in relation to professionalism...unfortunately i have lost some of my team members and this can never be the same to work at this orgainisation again...im sad about one team member who was a good friend but fortunately she has another post... sigh! i guess we may keep in touch...although im not counting on it cos people move on with their lives and time goes by so quickly next thing you know your old!!!

Anyway ill try not to be a recluse to the site...off to read some posts now...

Hi Angy,

It's nice to see you back! Sorry about all the bad happenings, I guess the economy is it tough shape just about everywhere, these days, but governments are the only places where money is available, so they shouldn't be laying off good workers - they should be hiring.

The fact that you're always tired, with muscle aches, etc., bothers me. Have you ever been checked for fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, or that sort of thing? Is it possible that you might be getting trace amounts of gluten somewhere? Or Dairy? Maybe you're sensitive to some other food or ingredient, that you haven't tracked down yet. I've lost track of what you're taking. Are you still taking Asacol? Maybe you're allergic to it.

You're certainly right about people moving on. Everyone seems to have good intentions, and many of them insist that they will keep in touch, but they almost never do. I've heard that phrase many, many times, over the years, but I can't recall more than one or two who ever actually got back in touch to even tell me where they were. :sigh:

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Hi Tex,

I have never been checked for fibromyalagia or cfs...although i did think about the fibromyalagia issue...only because a friend of mine has it and she was alwys in pain...

Im really strict with my gf diet..but i do eat dairy products....butter ,cheese and milkshakes which dont give me any reactions....GF diet is what got me well not the asacole meds to which i stopped...I only take asacole if i get a really bad flare and take it for a few days to a week until it stops....I dont get a lot of flares though cos my diet is pretty much ok!!! maybe bland at times but im used to this, its been 2 yrs now... I have found that aloe vera juice has been amazing for my gut...ive been taking this recently ,,takes yuk but its pretty dam good...

I mentioned the aching bones and muscles to the gi docs, god i always get different ones every 6 months...its a joke...and they werent even interested..said speak to your gp....waste of time going there i can tell ya...they done nothing for me...i made myself well with the help of u guys and diet... My calcium levels are normal too...

Angy
i have issues with lethargy and aches and pains.

Have done so for many many years. for about 6 months before the MC diagnosis it was quite bad. For the first 2 months after the diagnosis it seemed to have gone so i had figured it was the gluten.

I have had it a little bit in the last month, on the days that i have flares. my hips ache, knees ache.
I figure it is just my body trying to get me to slow down.

Thanks for your reply gaby,

...I started early menopause at the same time as my gut problems .. It was a year later i was diagnosed with cc.. Im convinced the cc caused early menopause...i refuse to take hrt drugs so maybe im suffering with my bones now due to this.....The muscle aches and joint pains are ongoing even without flares....I am very strict with my gf diet and dont experience flares a lot...but still suffer the usual cc symtoms.. Its getting to the stage where if i dont take calcium supplements its much worse...going to see my gp this week to discuss this...There are also a few lumps on my thighs that ache,,which i have had for sometime but didnt bother too much about them...until recently...cos they are aching more now.....and im getting concerned about them....still getting night sweats too....sigh!!!!
