For Those Who Like To Read Good Books

Post by tex »

Hi All,

If you're like me, you've been toying with the idea of trying a Kindle, but you're not yet ready to spend the money on one. Are you aware that you don't actually need the Kindle device, in order to take advantage of being able to download and read all those books electronically? You can do it right on your computer, either a desktop, or a laptop, or you can use an iphone, or other portable devices. All you have to do is to download the right program for your choice of devices, install it, and start downloading books. And the good news is that there are a heck of a lot of free books available for download, not just at Amazon, but at several other sources - many thousands of free books. They're yours for the asking - all you have to do is download them, and with a high-speed connection, it only takes a minute, (more or less). Or, you can buy books, the same way you would with a Kindle.

Here's where you can download the program you need:

for a PC, http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... 1000426311

for a MAC, http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... 1000464931

for an iphone, http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... 1000301301

for a BlackBerry, http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... 1000468551

After you install the program, (and register it with Amazon), you can download limited-time promotional selections, (free of charge), here:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=amb_link_40 ... 2279458011

Thousands of classic books are available free:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=amb_link_40 ... 2245146011

Other sources of free books:

http://manybooks.net/

Or you can buy the regular Kindle book offerings, here:

Enjoy,

Thanks Tex
i had been starting to get online books from one of the free sites, what i found is that becuase i spend majority of my day on the computer i was struggling to enjoy reading books via computer.

my favourite spot to read is in my hammock and given i dont have a laptop, i will stick to getting books from the library..

Joan,

The print in the PC version is quite large, and easy to read, FWIW.
