Feeling better!

Post by Rome »

:nurse:
Feeling better today. I am glad I decided to stay home yesterday to rest. I slept almost all day and all night. I went to my PCP today because I was still hurting, and felt like my throat was getting worse. I got a penicillin shot at work, which I thought would help clear me up fast, but it didn't. Now I have a sore thigh and a sore throat. Anyway, my doc prescribed me a Z-pac (Zithromax). I took it this afternoon, and have only had to take tylenol twice today. I haven't had any since about 2pm. This is good since I was taking 1 gram of Tylenol round the clock for 2 1/2 days, along with 800 mg of ibuprofen. That was easing the pain but not to a tolerable level, and it would only last for about 3 hours. I was barely able to eat this morning, but I took the first dose of Zithromax at lunch and by dinner I was able to eat. My throat is still a little sore, but NOTHING like it was this morning. He was going to prescribe prednisone, but decided against it since I am having the endoscopy. He didn't want to take a chance on "calming down" any inflamation in my intestines before the exam. He is very understanding as he has a daughter with CS. I really appreciated his genuine concern.

Anyway, thank you all for your concern and support. I think I will be totally fine for the endoscopy on Monday.

Til next time!

It's good to hear that you're finally feeling better. It sounds as though you have a great PCP. Understanding and concern are vital for good health support, IMO - they're what it's all about.

Thanks for the update, and I hope you continue to improve.

That is great news not only that you are feeling better, more so that you rested!

Keep resting .... doing the bowel prep may make you dehydrated, and it will take you longer to recovery from the scope

take care

Glad to hear you are feeling better, good luck with your procedure. If your doc has a Daughter with Crohns, I doubt she is the only person in his family with problems, hopefully this will work in your favor.
