Hi, Angy, good to "see" you. I'm a bit disappointed that you are not in the costume of your old avatar, though.
Blood type diet is NOT a good thing. Quack, quack.
Thanks for asking, she seems to be better. She just finished her antibiotics.

Joan,
I wouldn't dismiss Dogtor J so fast. I think he's on the right path with implicating lectins in disease. Both of my dogs benefitted from diet changes based on info I read on his site. I took both of my dogs off of gluten grains. One of my dogs had episcleritis, an autoimmune disorder in the eye. We were getting him treated at Texas A&M vet school by an eye specialist (steroids, eye drops etc). When he would get stressed he would flare (like when we went on vacation). He hasn't needed meds and hasn't had a flare since getting off of a grain based diet. My other dog had horrible oily, stinky skin and that completely vanished with diet change. If I lived near Dogtor J he would be my vet.
As for the blood type diet, it's on the right track with pointing the finger at lectins, which is why I think he has accumulated anecdotal evidence . . . get off lectins and feel better. Even the quackwatch piece says diet may be associated with blood type but it hasn't been studied. I haven't read the book and don't support it in any way, but I still like Dogtor J. To me he is like the Ken Fine of veterinary medicine . . . . I am quite certain his peers think he's a quack, but we know he is on the right track in looking at diet and disease.
