Thanks for the clarification on "Rice Crispie -like" , Tex, and the suggestions, Joan. I am off to the GP Dr. this morning and I think I am going to ask him to give me low-dose Naltrexonel, or, if he won't do that, then Entocort. I read up on LDN , and I, too, am surprised that more people haven't tried it. I am willing to give it a shot and will report back (that is, if I can convince my Dr. to give it to me.)
I have been seeing this guy for 4 years as my family Dr. , and although he knows I was dx'd with MC years ago, we have never even talked about it! My experience with DR.s regarding this condition has been like so many others.. that they know virtually nothing about it and we basically have to do our own research and disease management... everything they have ever suggested to me has only made me worse!! (eg. high fibre diet, Asacol)
Wish me luck getting the meds!

I have General Mills Rice Chex for breakfast with a sliced banana, strawberries and rice milk.
I am soy intolerant. I often times buy the Safeway store brand of rice cereal called Rice Pockets as it's less expensive.
I used soy milk for years and switched when I found I was soy intolerant.
Because many of us are soy intolerant, if I were you, I would not use soy milk.

Charlotte:
Thanks for the names of actual brands of cereal that I could use, and especially the ones that can be found in a normal grocery store. I went to our local health food store and bought 1 loaf of GF bread, 1 pckg of GF6 muffins, 1 box of breakfast bars and a small bag of GF cereal and it cost me $29.00!!!
I live in a very small town in southern Bc , quite a ways from any major centre so things always cost a lot here due to shipping costs but.. holy cow! I wasn't quite prepared for that!
RE: Soy
Yes, after two years of using soy milk and creamer, my flares are getting worse and worse, and I am started to suspect that I have become sensitized to soy now also. I am getting the full panel of Enterolab tests done, (have ordered it) so should know soon. What a tradgedy that will be for me as I love my coffee
and love "white" in my coffee, and the Silk creamer is very good, IMO.
Regards,
Linda

there has been great discussion about what works in coffee and what doesnt based on the products available to you
Yes - the GF/YF/LF products are very very expensive... i am eating less but my grocery bill is 20% more go figure???
especially the breads. that is why i started to make the savoury muffins (gf/yf/lf) myself it is way cheaper and there was no bread that suited my diet requirements.
what you will find because you are not eating out or buying snacks out and about it kinda balances the budget. Namely because i am not buying alcohol etc it has sort of balanced out.
I am a coffee girl -
i have coffee with small amount of lactose free milk. i have gradually reducing the amt of milk over the past 5 months so i can get myself to a stage of black coffee.... should it be required
the adjustment to the MC type of life is tricky.... there will be foods/ingredients that you miss.
i was doing ok with morning teas etc at work where there are always lots and lots of yummy foods that i cant have. I did ok for about 8 of them, and then the 9th one i struggled with watching everyone eat (although i take my own gabe snack with me) i had to leave. I think i was just having a down day

Hi Linda,
for breakfast I eat all sorts of things:
Nature's Path Mesa Sunrise cereal. Loblaws/Zehrs sell it. I put Rice Dream rice milk on it as I have to be df as well as gf. Add a banana.
Eggs every which way on gf bread I make myself.
Pamela's pancake and crepe mix which makes amazing waffles that even normal people like. Served with a banana, maple syrup if you can have that, or agave nectar.
Porridge - I'm lucky, I can tolerate oats. I use rice milk, and add a little agave nectar for sweetness
Omelettes
