Linda,
A newbie, (Traveler), posted to a thread written by Geargirl about a year and a half ago, (why such an old thread was selected, I have no idea, but that happens, now and then, when newbies search the archives). Then several other members responded, (assuming that it was a new thread). Geargirl hasn't logged on in over 8 months, and hopefully, the reason is because she has been in remission all this time.
I tried enzymes one time while I was going through the healing process. I was doing OK, but I thought I would do better with enzymes, since they're advertised to be so beneficial for anyone with digestive system issues. I took a minimum dose, (only one capsule), just before breakfast, intending to do the same for each meal, and if they helped, then I planned to increase the dose, the next day. In about an hour and a half, I could see that I had made a bad mistake, because I felt like hell.

About a half hour later, I started vomiting - lots of ugly, green colored stuff. I felt better after that, but the improvement didn't even last for an hour before I started feeling bad, again. After another hour, I was vomiting again. About every two hours, the cycle repeated, except that after the second episode, there was nothing left to regurgitate, so I had to be satisfied with the dry heaves.

Mercifully, by the end of the day, I finally stopped vomiting, (or rather, trying to vomit), but I still felt rough, and by then, of course, I was having D.

I didn't eat anything that day, but the second day, I finally ate a little chicken soup, and managed to keep it down. I felt a little better by the third day, and was able to eat a little solid food, later in the day. By the fourth day, I was feeling much better, and I was almost back to normal. Needless to say, that satisfied my curiosity about enzymes, and I haven't touched them since.
The worst part was, I paid almost 50 bucks for that bottle of super-duper enzymes, and I only used one. Of course, I consider myself extremely lucky - if I had taken 2 or 3, they might have killed me.
