Hello,
I was doing so well taking my entocort....and then.....I had Chex Honey Nut Cereal -- dry for the last few days. I am sick....my right side of my abdomen is hurting...just like old times. I first thought it was great northern beans, maybe it is both?? I am so bloated. It has been 3 weeks on my gf diet. This is the 1st time I have been sick. I can feel the gas making crazy noises in my stomach and intestines. Any advice for me would be most welcomed. I am being super careful....so I thought. THe box said gluten free....is there anything else in there that coould be causing this. I did not eat milk with it. I have not given up dairy yet, my enterolab results did not show I had a problem. Help!
Thanks!
Bev
Chex Cereal....could it be making me sick?

Bev,
Sorry to hear of that setback. The problem could certainly be beans. However, it might be the Chex cereal also. Quite a few celiacs have complained of reactions to GF Rice Chex, for example. No one knows why it seems to be a problem for some people, but not for others. I had to stop eating Rice Chex because it causes me to have a minor reaction, and a few others on this board have reported similar problems.
If I were in your shoes, I would avoid it for a while, at least, to see if it might be the problem.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
