hello again
I haven't been posting for a while, because I was not feeling so well. Also a warm welcome to all the newbies here. I hope this group will be as useful and supportive was and still is for me. This is the place to find all the information you need, when you're just diagnosed with MC. How greasy your question may seem there is always somebody here that comes up with the answer where you were looking for. Really great, warm, supportive people here.
I am not in a flare up (thanks god), but my bowel keep me busy in another way. I started to experiment a little bit more with my food, not even introducing new ingredients, just trying to make my fish, meat and veggies a bit more tasteful with herbs and spices. That was not a good idea. Like some people can have restless legs, I seems to get a restless bowel (where I have posted about before). And due to that I sleep very bad and because of that I start feeling a little depressed, tired, bad concentration. It is amazing what to little sleep does to the body and state of being. So I am back to my plane simple food plan with apple sauce as the great tastemaker.
I also made my stock, twice. The first time, to make to stock I bit spicier I added cayenne pepper which was a bad idea since cayenne is a nightshade (so I could throw it all away). Second time went better. Actually I discovered it cheap and easy to make. Only it gives a lot of dishes (and without a dishwasher that can be quite annoying). Everybody thanks for all your useful tips.

Hi Harma,
Sorry you're having a setback, but I'm glad it did not cause a full flare. IMO, it takes a year or more for the damage to the intestines to heal, and during that time, it can be risky to add some things back into the diet. I was always able to eat jalapenas, which add a lot of flavor to food, but they're a nightshade also, I believe, so you might not be able to tolerate them.
It's good to see an update from you, though - hope the next one is happier.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

I keep seeing that you are from Groningen and I think to myself, where in the world is that? I googled it today and found it is in the Netherlands. I learned something today.
Hope your situation improves.

It's nice to see you posting again, Harma. I'm sorry you've not been feeling well. Sometimes it seems we pay a high price for experimenting, even with herbs. My oregano, chives and sage are already up and beckoning in my garden, but I don't dare use them.
I hope you get back on track soon.
