I am still waiting for the LDN to arrive in the mail from Toronto, and also for my Entero lab kit to arrive. I did find some L-Glutamine while on my trip and started taking it the day before yesterday. Had a bit of a scare when I found a thread talking about it being a building block of protein, (right after taking my first dose of it).... afraid that I might react to it, but I didn't and so far so good. I really do think I have been better these last few days, even before I started taking the l-glutamine, although am not sure why. It could be having significantly cut back on my gluten intake, or it could just be the occasional pepto or immodium I have been taking because I was travelling and eating out, but that was definitely the least stressful/most flare free trip I have had in years and I took half the immodium I would normally have needed to make it through.

I have to leave again tomorrow for another two day conference.. sigh. I will be glad when I can just get back home and settle down to a regular life and schedule with no meds so i can really tell if there is improvement from cutting out/back on the gluten and taking the LG.

Hi Joan,
Yes, I realize it has to be cutting out all gluten eventually, not just cutting back, however right now, with being away from home and having just started into this new way of eating last week, I am not capable of managing all. But I have cut back signifiantly (am bringing my gluten free cereal and bread with me and eating them for breakfast, and choosing my restaurant meals carefully, etc) and am seeing an improvement, amazingly enough... I think. I would just like to know for sure and won't until I am home.
As always, though, thanks for everyone's concern and good advice.

Linda,

Once you get your results from Enterolab you will know what you need to do. Being GS was never on my radar screen. L-Glutamine and being GF has been my answer to my D issues.

I've been GF since last August, adapting to a GF diet isn't as difficult as you might think. If you test positive for GS then you know that if you eat it you will pay for it and in my case it's not even a temptation anymore and I am setting out pastry trays and slicing beautiful breads all day when I'm working.

Resolved MC symptoms successfully w/L-Glutamine, Probiotics and Vitamins, GF since 8/'09. DX w/MC 10/'09.
