He's right, of course. The problem is C-reactive protein, not cholesterol.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Doesn't the inflammation from MC affect the CRP? I had talked my doc into the test some years ago when I first heard of CRP. My score was high but she never repeated the test. I see her in a few weeks so maybe I should ask for a repeat test.

C-reactive protein is one thing that most doctors never seem to bring up. As far as I'm aware, I've never been tested for it, and I keep forgetting to request it. That will change on the very next blood test.
Incidentally, in his blogs, Dr. Briffa has been harping on the pointlessness of trying to reduce cholesterol levels, while ignoring C-reactive protein levels.
