Anyone Get Narrow Thin STOOLS ?

Post by Kristtene »

I was diagnosed with LC May 23.
For the first time, today, I had long narrow stools. As they came out, I thought it was a denser "stream" of diarrhea. But when I looked in the toilet bowl, they were formed stools, several of them, long, and less than half inch in diameter, but thicker than a pencil.

I didn't strain to get them out; they came out quite easily. No blood.

My colonoscopy was clean, other than presence of hemorrhoids that the doctor said were small, and of course, the biopsy showed LC.

Are narrow stools a common occurence with LC/MC ?

Just about anything is possible, but if it doesn't have the consistency of dirty water, you're doing pretty good, for someone with MC.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Having formed stools as opposed to D is always considered progress. The thicker in diameter, the better, of course.

I have experienced that. It is soooo much better than D. I call them my floaters (as they float but are surrounded by mucous) and get excited when I see that kind of success. Amazing what excites one after going through MC!
