Good thoughts for my friend...

Post by Stanz »

Hi All,

My good friend and co-worker is having a bilateral mastectomy in the morning. Everything points to a positive outcome but it will not be a fun couple of weeks ahead for her. Just asking for some positive energy focused on Wendy tomorrow. You never know what might help.

Thanks, Joan, she has all the good Karma in the world going for her, but every little bit helps.

My thoughts will be with Wendy and her loved ones. I'm so glad there are positive points in her favor.

She was out of surgery and headed to her room around 7:00 PM, just 2 hours ago. Four nodes were tested so far, and all were negative!! They are still testing and they won't have full pathology report until Friday, but so far, great news.

Sounds good. Didn't she have sentinel node biopsy? I think that's pretty common now but was very new and experimental when I had it.

Final results are still not in, but we're hopeful. She's doing as well as one would expect, the first 2 days post surgery are usually pretty miserable. She goes home today.

I know, the darn "drive through" mastectomies. There was a petition to sign years ago. I guess it did no good at all.

I was "lucky" to have a lumpectomy.

Stanz I'm glad your friend is doing as good as can be expected. I cannot believe they wanted to send her home that quickly. That does seem to be the trend though.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery form New Hampshire & Maine
