woo hoo - doing a happy dance

Post by Gabes-Apg »

again things are fine here, tired, working long hours but my body (and my digestion) are doing ok.

my stay here has been extended by 5 days so all up i will be away from home almost 3 weeks, not sure if i will get a day off this weekend.

the lovely lady in our office Anne-Laure (french lady who speaks english and spanish) found a website that has GF/SF/DF items.

before we placed the order she rang them, explained my circumstance (australian girl here on business, my trip has been extended need the items urgently)

the good news is the order will be here tomorrow! (it will be like christmas)

it is mainly snack foods and borderline 'junk food' but at least it will be treats i can have when others are having their three course meals at lunch, I will have something. And it gives me some snack foods for the transit home next week.

as Anne-laure was speaking to them to confirm when the delivery would arrive, the interesting part of this was the man who runs the business, said that most of the products he sells are sourced from Australia, as dietary intollerances and allergies are very prevalent there.
the website was all in french, so i sat with anne-laure and she translated what the items were.

The days are lovely, blue skies no clouds, and i am lucky that my desk is beside a window, so i am getting lots of natural light.
I am getting used to the driving and am starting to be a bit more bold with my driving.

best wishes to all. i hope this weekend i get a chance to edit some photos and post them.

great gabes, It is all going so well in France. When you're back you are not only an expert of a GF/DF/SF diet in Australia but also in France!!!

Also great you are going to stay longer, only I hope for you, they will also give you some time, you could actually see something of the Province!!

Keep on going with the good work and again (I have said this before) RESPECT (yes in capitals) how you are cooping with all this. How you are dealing with the MC and carry on with your live is an inspiration to me!!!

Gabes,

As the song goes, "little things mean a lot". It sounds as though everything is going your way, these days, (though I'm sure that most of it is going your way because you are orchestrating it). It doesn't get much better than that, though.

I hope that everything continues to go your way.

Gabes

So happy to read your post and that you may be getting "a net positive" from your long journey and all the difficulties you have had to deal with in France.

All best, Ant

You're an inspiration Gabes. You've obviously touched the people you're working with and it sounds like you're getting to be a real team.

Well maybe that is SOME form of recognition. If you weren't doing a good job they would be ready to get rid of you
Even better that you have this new plus with some special treats coming. I'm so happy for you.

That's great news Gabes that your health is holding up and that you will have a chance to enjoy the trip a bit more.

This must seem like a bit of a victory for you to be doing so well after such a stressful time traveling and working so many hours

Best wishes

:noworries: Good on ya, Gabes! Treats are important. I was in a Starbucks coffe shop the other day down in Sandpoint Idaho, USA and asked if they had any GF baked goods. They had a little package of simple GF cinnamon sugar cookies, which I bought , (and ate and thoroughly enjoyed.)) They took the feeling of being deprived away.

Interesting what they said about Australia having a lot of food intolerances.

You should be so proud of your self for managing your MC so well. As has been said before, you are an inspiration. I hope you enjoy the next week, don't work too hard, and get a little down time.
Regards,
Linda

Thanks Linda, Joe, Kim, Connie, Ant and Tex

got my box of treats today! (within 24 hours as promised)

i can not read anything on the labels it is all in french, my friend Anne-Laure doubled checked and they are all cleared for consumption.

about to try my GF/LF/SF hot chocolate right now.... its 5pm here, i really start to fade at this time, as we have been on the go for 10 hours, and i have to stay focused for another couple of hours.

and Yep - TAKE THAT MC, it takes more than travelling to the otherside of the world, language barriers, stressful work conditions to knock us down.

sticking to bland safe foods is the key, dont be tempted by treats that are dangerous.

What a marvelous attitude Gabes. I'm glad that you were able to find a good GF/LF/SF source of snack foods etc. After that post I am ready for you to leap tall buildings with a single bound...

The problem is that you might do just that LOL. We are going to need to find you a cape with a big letter G on it...

It certainly sounds like your spirits are up and are doing well.

How good is the hot chocolate?

Take care
