Well, I have now finished 1/2 of the Miralax solution and the diarrhea has started. I mixed it with a very good apple juice (Martinelli) and it isn't too bad. It is thick and tastes kinda like apple nectar. I do feel bloated and really don't feel like drinking more at this point. But, alas, I have no choice (wouldn't it be awful not to be cleaned out enough and to have to go thru it all again).
Tex, hopefully I will be cleaned out before bedtime and will have one more sleep!
I am SOOOO hungry. Hubby went to mall to eat so he wouldn't tempt me.

Well, Polly Wolly "doodled" most of the night - got about 4 hours sleep with only 2-3 bathroom dashes. Of course, we MCers excel at those, don't we? LOL!
Colonoscopy went smoothly. GUESS WHAT?? NO polyps! (I had them the last 2 times). My doc and I think this is due to the fact that I have been taking adequate vitamin D - 6000 IUs per day for all but the summer. There is good evidence now that vitamin D can prevent the formation of polyps (which, of course, are what eventually cause colon cancer). I was an "early adopter" of increasing the std dose of vitamin D some years ago, so I jumped on the bandwagon. (My dad died from colon cancer). I won't have the biopsy results for a week or so, of course, so I'll have to wait to see if the MC is still there.
The only problem is that I've been woozy all day from the anesthesia - just woke up after sleeping for 4 hours. Apparently there is a shortage of propofol (Michael Jackson drug) so I had to get a "cocktail" which included versed and fentanyl too. Last time I had only propofol and I recall waking up and feeling great for the rest of the day.

Great! I'm glad to hear that everything went so well, (except for the anesthesia).
That's really interesting about the polyps. We all knew that vitamin D helps to prevent colon cancer, but I didn't realize that was the mechanism by which it worked. You certainly proved that it worked in your case, at least.

I will be sure to tell my husband about your vitamin D and no polyps. My husband had his 6th colonoscopy this morning and the doctor removed 11 small polyps and one large one. Can anyone top that. His last colonoscopy was 3 years ago when they also removed several. Don't know how many. About 12 years they perforated his colon and he ended up in the hospital for several days in serious condition.
