Chocolate's Effect On Blood Pressure, Heart Attacks, Strokes
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Well, problem is that the recommendation/difference relates to the equivalent of about 1 T.of some kind of chocolate. I know I can't stop w/one and I have an endless stash of chocolate in my garage that is for "work". Somehow it finds its way into the house and unwraps itself and jumps in my mouth. Go figure.
Resolved MC symptoms successfully w/L-Glutamine, Probiotics and Vitamins, GF since 8/'09. DX w/MC 10/'09.
Been searching for a chocolate that does not have dairy or soy and today in a London Starbucks I think I finally found one:
"Starbucks dark chocolate - ingredience: Cocoa Mass, Sugar, cocoa butter, vanilla, cocoa solids 70%, made by Divine Chocolate Ltd."
I have indulged my fist chocolate bar in TWO YEARS! And I had it with an espresso, which is something I have only dared to start to drink again also after TWO YEARS. I hope it will not cause a reaction, but these little reintroductions are just wonderful for ones spirit.
If it does work I will have to try and get Starbucks to stock it in Hong Kong.
Just wanted to share what I think is a little progress in the journey, Best, Ant

Way to go, Ant! The thrill of being able to add a special indulgence to a plain vanilla diet is something we can all identify with! It's a sign of your healing process!
I've actually found several different brands of dark chocolate that are gluten/dairy/soy free at Market of Choice. I agree that the chocolate chips and baking chocolate aren't very good yet. I think that they use the inferior grades of chocolate to manufacture them since they aren't designed to eaten by themselves. And I indulge freely. I usually have half of a 3 oz bar of chocolate each day!

Hi there...just a thought I had!
Hey there, Wayne,
Just had a thought cross my mind before I opened this up to the title of that article.
I thought, if it had said just the opposite...that chocolate would kill a person, I'd have said, "Yeah, but what a way to go!"
How is everyone doing. I've been sooooo busy lately I'm meeting myself coming and going! Ha!
Yours, Luce

Ah, yes, chocolate...my heart's desire. I still have my 50 or so Passover bars waiting patiently for me to reach out to them again someday. I hope they are still good when I can eat them again. 'Twas the hardest food for me to give up, but it's been a month now and I'm surviving. I finally turned off the switch.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
Hi Luce,
LOL. Yep, some of us would probably continue to take a chance on chocolate, regardless of what the research showed.
We're still hanging in there. About the biggest news lately, has been Polly's biopsy results from a colonoscopy a few weeks ago. They were negative for MC. Her colon histology has completely returned to normal.
