Since it's already Monday in Australia, your birthday has already arrived, so I hope you're enjoying this special day with family and friends.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Just got back home to a cold house after a week of swimming and playing the tourist in Cairns. First thing I did is log in here. A trip away is a good way to celebrate a birthday (especially one of those scary round number ones).
Survived all the eating out with no more than trivial digestive issues, but caught a cold from some people seated behind us on the boat from green island. It had engine trouble so we had a half hour wait, and the lady behind me (from Texas, as it happens) kept coughing and saying how sick she was.... A couple of days later and we both have this nasty cough.
Got to do some fun things, including catching sight of a cassowary in the wild!! These are big flightless birds (similar size and shape to an ostrich or emu) and there are only supposed to be about 50 of them in the daintree wilderness area - they are classed as endangered. So getting to see one with two babies running behind was very special.
Hope you have been keeping well, and I'll get a chance to catch up on what I've missed soon.
