Appreciate the welcome everyone. Your answers are invaluable. I got over my embarrassment with respect to my problems years ago. I always say that my bowels stole my humility. So I will not be shy to ask for help.

I have bounced through several on-line forums (and face to face forums) over the years as my undiagnosed condition evolved. Now that I (sadly and happily) have a diagnosis, and now that I have met all of you, I feel I can get the proper guidance and support to muster through this.

Today, day 4 of my Entocort, was unusually hard. Seems I feel more toxic than normal. Also, my bowel movements were so frequent I lost count (more than pre-Entocort). And that shade of green in the toilet is really a sight to behold. My co-workers said I looked ill. My administrative assistance grabbed my arm and said I felt hot to the touch. Is all of this likely a reaction from the Entocort? Note that I started my GF and DF diet two days ago, and that is so much tougher than I realized it would be.

Rich,

Unfortunately, a few of us have adverse reactions to Entocort. If you should notice any symptoms such as blurred vision, (or tunnel vision), balance issues, nausea, vertigo, etc, stop taking it immediately.

If you do have fever, and you can't pin it on anything other than the Entocort, watch yourself closely, and if you develop any signs of anaphylaxis, or other serious symptoms involving breathing, heart rate, etc., go to the ER, immediately. Such reactions are rare, but possible.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Having a great increase in the number of stools while being on Entocort is pretty unusual. Your quantity of stools should either be the same or less. You should take your temp to be sure you don't have a fever. It is possible that you could have a flu or some other problem.

An I welcome the hello to all the new potty people. What a family we have here.

Hoosier - please do watch the effects as Tex pointed out on the Entocort. It is definitely something that NY Barbara and I both had adverse reactions too.
