I am being a nosy parker, but do you work in the airline business or are you a frequent business traveler? I do a lot of airline travel and even in business class find very little to eat. If i say I am celiac or diabetic in both cases they give me some combination of salad or yogurt - which of course I cannot eat!! There is nothing for GF, DF, SF
I hear you Ant,
I'm tired of all the celiac information and recipes out there that include tons of cheese, milk, soy flour, etc. And the constant discussion of gluten free bread options when I can't have yeast! It's depressing.
I agree, in my recent travel to Australia I was surprised that the choices were non-existent. I ordered a GF meal, which was a chicken breast with a mystery brown sauce. The remainder was a cooked veggie a salad and a yogurt. I decided to not take the risk even on the vegetables. When I asked they had no information of the sauce that was used they did not, and seemed not to be too happy about me bothering them.
I am glad that I packed my own foods in a carry on (great suggestions everyone). Given the 17 hour flight from LA to Sydney that would have been tough with nothing to eat. At least the Aussie wine was good.
Rich in the 80's and 90's I used to travel about 80k miles a year, it was much easier than with MC
