Katy,

By now you are getting close to going to bed. I wish you good luck tomorrow on your procedure.

I also was assaulted (by a stranger) when I was much younger. It took a long time for the flashbacks to go away. At the time I was even too scared to go to counseling. I waited almost 15 years to do that. There is a life after an event such as this. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers as you work through this.

Jan, I appear to be unable to sleep from nerves, luckily my mum is off work tomorrow so she is coming with me.

I managed to try to get help straight away, although i was completley numb to everything all year, its only been since June that i have started to feel like my old self, with a few blips

The main issue I am dealing with atm is the fact this is the first time i'll have really let anyone 'there' so to speak so am a bit freaked out.

A BIG THANKS YOU AND :bigbighug: TO EVERYONE WHO HAS WISHED ME LUCK, I'LL LET YOU ALL KNOW HOW IT WENT WHEN I GET BACK TOMORROW (Some time after 4pm BST)

Thanks,

Katy

Hey all,

Today was a complete failure

My ultrasound scan was fine everything appears to be clear, although they did struggle to find my bladder!

But the Cystoscopy... I was kinda alright until I got into the operating room, at which point, I saw two males and did this

I'd told the admissions nurse about the issues when i arrived, and she did say normally that they would offer a general anesthetic there and then, but they didn't have the anesthatist today so they couldn't. So we have to rearrange it for either oct or dec.

Dear Naty

well that ain't exactly 'quality' health care. I hope they get their act together next time. Sorry for your continuing ordeal.

Well they do say you get what you pay for, and as the NHS is free...

But there where a couple of issues that they apparently had today;

Firstly there are no female consultants in that department.

Secondly they where understaffed with anesthetists in said department.

They also told me that a female nurse would come and get me and that there would be more females than males in the room... A male nurse came to get me (which didnt bother me too much really) then when I walked in and there where 5 males 2 females, even though they were not all staying there, i still freaked!

But to give them their due, less than 2 hours after I had arrived home and several phonecalls they have managed to fit me in for the procedure under general anesthetic on Oct 12th. Which was nice of them to do.

I am so sorry. I know you hate to wait. But, it may all be for the best. I had to postpone a surgery this summer and I was real frustrated about the wait. But, it turned out that the doctor who would have done it was having real bad competency problems and the delay let me change doctors and avoid a potential disaster. We never see those things until they are over. I pray everything will go well when you get it rescheduled!

Sorry I got your name wrong, Katy-Naty, dear. I could have sworn I saw Natalie somewhere!

At least now everyone is aware of what should happen when you go in ( no or few males ) so hopefully it will be fine (well, as fine as a procedure can be!) next time.

No worries Linda! I just thought I would let you know this before either of us get confused by a mystery 'Natalie'!

I'll let you all know how it goes next time. And thank you for the support for the failure of monday
