Walmart now has their own brand of toilet paper..LOL

Since I am always on the lookout for a bargain.. I decided to try the new (new here anyway) Walmart Toilet paper. Says it is strong.. poked a hole in the package and felt it and Charmin and they felt the same.. well sort of. Bought both just in case the Walmart stuff wasn't really soft enough. Told hubby if it was like sandpaper he could use it...LOL

Walmart is right the darn stuff is strong.. you could probably use it for miniature paper towels! I have decided I will use my many rolls in place of Kleenex this winter.. since my sinuses were running and I was out of Kleenex.. tried the new strong Walmart Toilet paper and it was perfect:)

The strong and soft is only good for the nose... not the other end:)

Wait a minute, GrannyhH - now I'm confused. Are you saying that it's ideal for the nose, but inferior for the southern end? How can that be?

Incidentally, it's been a long time since anyone posted a toilet paper review, so we appreciate your research report.

I am saying it is strong enough for the worst runny nose you ever had..but a bit harsh for the other end if you aren't in remission:)

I use the big double rolls of Charmin from Costco but I go through them so quickly. Especially when having a flair which I haven't had in a long time. I tried another brand recently, a single ply tissue but it was not soft at all. That brand seemed to last forever. I wish I could find something in between. Something both soft and yet a lot on the roll. But then I really haven't shopped for toilet paper recently. Any suggestions!

I use quilted Northern, (double rolls), but I can't say that it's any softer than Charmin. It must not be too bad, though, because I notice that I continue to use it, despite making comparisons now and then, (Charmin is my second choice).

I tried the Northern Ultra Plush, (3-ply), stuff, but it's too fragile, tears too easily, and doesn't go as far, (though it is noticeably softer).

So THAT is where all the dust in my bathroom comes from. I have been stumped for years at the amount of dust that accumulates in my bathroom... The windows aren't open.. there are only two people living here..we have no pets. It must be the toilet paper. For years I used so much toilet paper I am sure the folks at the grocery store must have thought I was stock piling the stuff.. and it was always Charmin. Next toilet paper purchase will be Quilted Northern. Thanks for the toilet paper analysis, Tex:)

Well gosh, I feel kind of bad about convincing you to switch brands, after all these years of faithful use, but I have to admit that's probably the main reason why I stick with Northern I'm a hay fever sufferer, and Northern seems to be the least dusty choice among the "quality" options available. I can't say that paper dust causes me to have hay fever symptoms, but I figure the less dust I inhale, the better off I am - I get plenty of dust at work, so I don't really need it at home.

I know I will be able to use up all of the Walmart Toilet Paper with the first winter cold:) When I ran out of kleenex last year I went through several rolls of toilet paper and found it easier on the nose than kleenex. Wish I could find a prettier way to store the toilet paper on my kitchen counter.. looks rather tacky... not like the pretty boxes of facial tissues of all brands.

You know, now that you bring it up, I've always been concerned about all the dusty fibers that Kleenex appears to generate. I've never noticed that it made my symptoms any worse, but somehow it seems inappropriate for a tissue used on the nose, to generate so much dust. If you've never noticed the dust coming off them, just "harass" one in a stream of sunlight, to highlight it, and you'll see what I mean.
