GI Again tomorrow!
So I'm seeing my GI tomorrow (about 7 weeks after my last appointment) and I have absolutley nothing I can think of to ask, should I be worried or happy about this really? (That was more a rhetorical question, but feel free to respond!)
The only thing I know that may be happening is that they may be insisting on an endoscopy to take biopsies of the top of the gut or something like that to test for celiac disease if I haven't gained any weight at all (I know I haven't)
But yeah I shall let you all know how it goes.

Best of luck tomorrow Naty - sorry, can't really think of any suggestions ........ By the way, I love your numbers game with your age - I've calculated that you'll be the same age as my "little" Naty for another 5 years, then she'll be ten and you'll be one :):):) ......
Love,
Kari

I am gonna accept the endoscopy, they are just going to have difficulty fitting it around university again, but it will be ok, my health is important to me! They will also have to knock me out for this as I have a horrible gag reflex!
Kari, we will be the same age forever then, my 'age theory' means that you never actually hit double figures!

Dear Naty
Good luck 2morrow. IMHO, if you have the endoscopy and they Dx celiac, then you will be "celiac". If they do not Dx celiac then you still could be gluten intolerant (which is the same as celiac, but they did not "find it"). However, it would be good to get an official celiac Dx if you are gluten intolerant.
On another subject, (unless I have this all wrong, in which case please correct me) using your wonderful birthday logic I am now 12 years old....5+7 (once you get to may ripe old age you do get above 9
) ....... In fact at 99 you reach 18...... But when you reach 100 you are back at 1 year old. So that is something to aim for!!!!
Best wishes, Ant

LOL - yes, if you apply your aging theory to "my little Naty" as well, you'll always be the same age ........... due to all the brain cells I've lost through brainfog over the last several years, I had to actually put the numbers on a spreadsheet to convince myself :):):)

Ant - speaking for Naty's theory, I believe she would keep reducing the numbers until they get into single digits, so when you're 99, you'd actually be 9 (8+1=9) :):):) Anyhow, she obviously needs to verify this herself ........
I'm happy to report that I'm also 5 (like the 2 Natys) using this theory. 59 = 14 = 5 :):):)

Ok Naty's theory.......
You do not go into double figures, the only ages you can be are: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 or 9.
It's a bit like numerology really, only you add the numbers of your age together...
here are some examples of what you ages would be:
23= 2+3=5
57= 5+7=12 1+2 = 3
99= 9+9= 18 1+8=9
100= 1+0+0 =1
Ok i stole all your examples but that is not the point :P I hope this makes sense.
But back to what this thread is about.... thanks Ant, I'm willing to take all the tests they offer as they are free (good old NHS!) in an attempt to go into remission.

Oh Also while i remember, although my Apt with the GI is tomorrow (or today depenidn on your P.O.V) there may be a few day delay with me telling you how it went. As I am celebrating my birthday by going out with my friends to an indoor kiddies play area (that they open to adults one night a week) and a friend is travelling down especially to do this and spending a night or 2.

Ok I managed to get online..... so here is what happened....
I have been 'discharged' from the hospital as my GI believes that I am in remission however if there is a flare up i can go back to see him, I've gained a bit of weight too so they don't think i have celiac disease yet but if i start loosing weight they want me to go back and get the endoscopy.
Oh and I'm in control of my own medication, but he wants me to try and come off it as he thinks that the Pentasa may be causing whatever is wrong with my kidney.
