Citrucell

Post by hoosier1 »

I know the fiber in Citrucell may be a little agressive, but are there any other ingredients in it that I should be concerned about?

Aggressive? Are you aware that Citrucel is a laxative?

Hey Tex,

I was never really sure what it was. They seem to prescribe it to bulk up stools too. So I figured "regularity" could possibly be assisted as this could bring either problem a little more back to center.

Well, Citrucell is based on water-soluble fiber, and it's claimed to be non-fermentable, so theoretically, at least, it's the safest form of fiber for someone with MC to use. It's certainly not impossible that it might help, so if I were inclined to experiment, I might give it a try. You might have to experiment with the "dose", also.

If you try it, please let us know how it goes.

Think I'm gonna wait to give it a try. Just researching. As you all have learned about me, I am infamous for running concurrent, multi-variable experiments on myself. Not the best idea but shows my impatience.

For all the engineers, mathematicians, statisticians out there, it would be interesting to run a design of experiments on treating this problem (like a Taguchi Methods or Shainin).
