Trying to add an avatar with no luck
I've been here on this board for a few weeks now, and I thought it might be time to add an avatar. I made the avatar at 80x80, and went to the appropriate place to upload it, and it acts as if it goes thru, but then that flag just keeps coming up instead. Am I doing something wrong?
Did you check the image file size? It has to be less than 6KB, (80 x 80 pixels is 6.4 KB). If it still won't work, or you get tired of fiddling with it, (sometimes computer systems can act a little snotty about certain details), if you will e-mail it to me, I'll be happy to try to force the system to accept it.
If you're going to send it to me, though, it would be better to send a larger image file, so that I can cut it down to size in a way that will minimize the loss of detail.
Sorry about the problem,
Tex

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

It should accept JPG and/or TIF files. I have no idea why it won't accept your uploaded file.
Computers do weird things, sometimes, and they can be very unforgiving.
As I mentioned, if you'll send me a file, I'll be happy to convert it into an avatar and upload it for you.

IDream,
If you want to do it yourself, here's another way to go about it. Post the avatar on a remote site, (one of the image sites, or on one of the 2 used here for adding images to posts, ImageShack, or PostImage), and in your profile, enter the URL at which that image is filed, into the appropriate slot where it says "Link to off-site Avatar:" Sometimes the system will accept images that way, that it refuses to upload directly.
