IgA test prescribed, also, a full CBC, etc.

Post by hoosier1 »

Well, I went to see my family doctor today. His name is Dominick Acquaro. A really good guy. In fact, he wrote a book that he gives to all of his patients called "Bedside Matters", if anyone is in for a good read about a doctor in the business for all the right reasons.

Anyways, I hadn't seen him for almost a year as I battled through a series of GI docs and colorectal surgeons. I told him I wanted some blood work done to see why I am so fatigued, and to test my IgA.
He chuckled and asked if I had been on the internet again. I said of course. He agreed.

So tomorrow I get the blood draw for IgA and full CBC. I am curious to see what my platelets are doing because I seem to be bleeding a lot lately. Will post results soon.

Joe,

What did you learn from your test?

Rich my Iga was OK. I have not done the Enterolab testing. I have used the start from very simple foods and add one at a time to find out the answers, so no numbers - just empirical data.

OK Joe.

I have a strong suspicion that I will show an IgA deficiency. Time will tell.

Good luck Idream.

I am especially curious to see what your IgA results are.

Will know mine in a week.

Rich

P.S. Anyone near Des Moines, Iowa?

Doc's office finally called back, he ordered the IgA test. They are mailing the orders to me, so it could be a few days before I can have the blood drawn. I'm without a car right now, my son was driving the car to a job interview and it threw a rod, needs a new engine now, so it could be months and months before I can get it fixed, it's a good thing I don't drive much these days. In fact the only time I ever really go anywhere is to the doctor appointments. If it ain't one thing it's another!

My son took me to get the IgA deficiency test today, it's a "send out" test, so it will be a week until I get the results. Any results for you yet Rich?

No results yet, Idream,

And I am very anxious as I have been slipping a lot lately. Something is way off in me.

I am seeing my family doc the week after next, so I will post the results then.
