Well it was a Monday and not a good one.

Started off feeling well, but that quickly changed.

I have been having some spasms and pain in my mid back and now out into my ribs. Nothing really bad, just annoying.

Not sure if its the LC, the GAD or what these days, just really tired of all the weird stuff.

Pretty noman BM twice a day.

So I don't know what is going on, I am a week into the GF diet and have been very faithful. Eating three meals a day with no problem.

Just tired of trying to figure out what all these symptoms are.

Hope all have had a better day today.

Randy, I don't know how well this would work for you, if you have a microwave at work, how active you are, etc., etc., but I carry around a couple of 5-lb. rice bags all time here at home, and sometimes take them in the car with me. They are easy to make--5 lbs. of rice in a cotton bag about 12"x15". Three minutes in the microwave, and you have a source of moist heat (at least until the rice gets old) for whatever aches. I stick them behind me when I am sitting or lying down, and it feels really good. They conform to whatever position I am in. When they cool down, I give them another couple of minutes in the microwave.

Feed corn works better. It's not lumpy, as you would think, and it holds the heat much longer. A gal in our church in Kansas made them for all the pregnant women. Mine lasted 10 years until the cotton wore through. I tried to get some feed corn from a feed store up here in WA to make another one, and the woman there acted so horrified that I left without buying any and switched to rice. :lol:

Anyway... just a medicine-free suggestion to soothe those aches and pains.

Since lately I have been having some back and neck pain I think I will give it a try. Now what is so horrifying about feed corn? :shock:

The ups and downs with this disease can be very discouraging. I had what I call a "toxic Monday". I literally felt like someone slipped me a mickey. I am guessing this is from leaky gut, but I have no clue.

I recently went back up to 4 entocort/day (since Sunday) in the hope that I knock this think back in a significant way.

Thats what I felt like yesterday, I just wanted the day to be over.

I was exhausted and upset and mad and all kinds of things.

Guess it was just a bad day.

Today is better although I feel like not talking to anyone today, but that very difficult in my job.

Sure is nice to have a place to share all this with people who understand.

Maggie,

I think the lady was just thinking about how lumpy she thought it would be, and didn't believe me when I said it wasn't. She sold me some flaxseed instead. Granted, flaxseed makes a really smooth surface, but it has to be warmed up longer and doesn't hold the heat very long at all. I also discovered that the oil colors the bag after a while.

The gal who made bags for us would get a 50# bag of seed corn and clean it of all the little twigs and pokey stuff, then make the bags out of quilting material. She sold them for $10 at craft fairs. I doubt they would be marketable any more--it seems like everyone has jumped on the rice bag wagon. Some people make them with aromatherapy items, like lavender, in them.

Love my rice bags - have one at work & one at home.

Mine are made from socks. Bought a pair of very thick, soft socks that go up to almost the knee. Pour the rice in & tie a knot in the open end. I used rice because it was handy.

Hubby thought I was batty the first time he saw the "sock" in the microwave. HAHA

Hi Randy, sorry you had an off day. MC really can be a series of 3 steps forward 1 back at times. The mental fog is certainly a familiar symptom that most of us experience form time to time.

Marliss that's a great idea on those bags, I have something like it I picked up at our state fair about 5 years ago and I think it is filled with dried corn. When I heat it up it smells a bit like popcorn... It works great.

Randy I hope you feel better as the week progresses.

I use rice bags, too, but I put mine in knee high nylons. I tried using a tube sock once, but the nylons work better because I use it on my neck and it makes a skinny rice bag. With both all I had to do was tie a knot in one end - quick and easy. I have a huge quilted bag with flax seed - probably 20 inches by 30 inches. It's handy, but it's so big it's hard to get it to heat evenly in the microwave oven. I did not make it, though. It was a gift from a very thoughtful relative.
