Hello all again,

Linda, I have an exam on friday, oddly enough I am not panicking yet! But maybe thats because they have already given us the question so I know exactly what I need to revise. But yeah Uni is going well I believe! Drugs wise, I've stopped taking Pentasa and some random iron ones that I had to take due to anemia. I was just freaking out because I had been on drugs since May for one reason or another, that oddly enough all lead to completley different peoblems, so not sure why I was worried about going cold turkey really!

Kari I have made the decision to go GF after christmas (for totally selfish reasons), but the theory is, it gives me a month or two to scope out the GF food situation here in the UK and to mentally prepare myself for it. But obviously if I get into massive issues with my health before then I will go GF straight away.

Mucho Loveo to you all!

xx

(I apologise i'm very hyper again... not sure why it is 8am!)

Luckily so far the D hasn't returned, but my stress levels have shot up over the last 24 hours so this may not stay the case for long. I'm sat here with my fingers crossed!

I have actually told the colitis that if it insists on flaring up, can it do it after 4pm on friday so that I can get the exam out of the way!

I miss having months where I was completley healthy!

Good luck on your exam, and also on the hoped-for lack of flare.

Dear Naty

Sure hope you can knock it out with Imodium/pepto or whatever, if you can tolerate those. Thinking of you.

All best, Ant

It pisses me off so much! I've lost all the weight I have gained since august plus a bit extra, unfrotunatley I can't get to the drs today, but I'm gonna go on monday to get a prescription of something again, then after my exam today if i feel alright i'm going to go stock up on some immodium or similar

Dear Naty,

Yes, this disease does have its ups and downs. With all the stress you are under at the Uni, you can expect that. I remember trying to get ready for exams and all the stress it provided me. Hopefully you will find that immodium will keep it at bay until the stress goes away. Maybe you can find some stress/hyperness relievers like meditation or yoga. You've been able to put the weight back on so you know you can do that again also.

Take care of yourself.

I'm looking at positives! Or trying to and failing!

My attempt to get a drs appointment to get some form of medication again failed I was told to ring up at 8am on monday morning (whoever heard of a student getting up and being coherent at that time of morning?) which will be entertaining.

Thank you all for your well wishes. Your good vibes are currently stopping it from getting worse than it is!

Naty,

I am suffering with you. Can't seem to control this problem. Can't maintain weight. This is tough.

Stress is a killer and this disease seems to thrive on it. Once you think thing are under control... bam... the rug is pulled out from under you.

I have my high calorie coconut milk so I am going to make 1,200 calorie Linda smoothie (I am adding some Absorb to the mix). I would think a few of these a day would pack on the pounds. I will keep you apprised.

Try to find a quiet place to rest and calm your gut.

Naty
stress is my worst enemy these days - it is my worst trigger for the MC

Try not to stress about the weight too much, get through the exams, and then work day by day re the weight.

have you tried to get ingredients online? i find it much much easier than having to trek around all the health food stores. you pay a little extra for the items and the postage, but the items are in stock and it saves time.

Naty,

Amazon.com has become my best friend for finding those "hard to find" foods. And I find their prices reasonable, if not better than purchasing locally.

The Coconut Milk shakes aren't too bad (taste-wise). Will need to give it some time to see if the weight creeps up. Will keep you apprised. At least I am not seeing, cross my fingers, a worsening of my symptoms with this concoction.
