He thought it would be smart to just do the Enterolab tests, and find out what my intolerances are all at once. I was leaning that way too, but it does seem expensive.
I called my insurance company, and gave them the procedure codes and diagnosis codes, and they said that those tests are "standardly covered". However, Enterolab is out of network, so they won't cover as much as if it were in network. I'll still have to pay it all, since I haven't met anything on my deductible yet this year, but it will be nice if they apply the cost of the tests to my deductible.
I ordered the gluten and milk sensitivity tests and the egg, yeast, and soy panel. I decided not to do the full gluten panel and gene test, because that seems like it will give me lots of information that I won't know what to do with. Mostly I just want to know what not to eat.
If I test positive to all these things, I will be back here whining!!
