Shirley, the message in the card says it all. The people here are great. Thanks to everyone here for all your support the past 10 months. This Thanksgiving the one thing I am most thankful for is that my health has improved to the extent it has and I owe it all to everyones help here.

Things here are good, but have been transitional since we moved to Fergus.
Caregiving for an elder parent is such an experience- Alans father passed away in July and we are trying to regain a family life again. Alanna is 17 now and driving.....in blizzard conditions on rural roads. A mothers nightmare.
I don't post often, but follow the posts here on a regular basis.

Yes, caring for an elderly relative is most certainly life changing.
I didn't think Mom & I were going to do anything about Thanksgiving but my dear friend and neighbor found out and promptly invited us to go with her to a buffet. There was lots there that I shouldn't have but managed to get full anyway and Mom said it was the best meal she'd had in a long time. I'm glad for that.
I just felt too tired and overwhelmed to try and make a Thanksgiving dinner at home. I will be doing Christmas for my daughter and family so decided to save my energy for getting the house in shape and decorating. Haven't done that in years. HaHa
