I've used it too, with no problems.

Lisa, just another rice tip in addition to what you're using. A quick, easy way to have rice on hand for breakfast or whatever is to use your crockpot. I buy the sweet rice or glutinous rice (it doesn't have gluten) at a Chinese market where I buy coconut milk. You can probably buy it in a regular grocery store also. Anyway, put 1 cup of the rice in your crockpot with 5 to 6 cups of water and leave it on low overnight. In the morning you will have this beautiful gooey rice to use for anything you want for several meals. It is very soothing to the gut. I add a mashed banana with cinnamon and it tastes great. You can also make your regular rice this way, just don't add so much water. Another thing you might want to try is to buy rice protein powder and make yourself some shakes. I find those very soothing also. I buy Nutribiotic Vegan Rice Protein online. It comes in vanilla and chocolate. I usually mix rice milk, coconut milk or coconut oil, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and the chocolate protein powder altogether in a blender. I also add cinnamon. It tastes great. Right now, you may not want to do the berries until your gut calms down and you can determine if you tolerate them. The banana is usually fine. Just a few suggestions that have helped me, JoAnn

I buy Thai jasmine rice at the Asian store. The flavor is much better than "supermarket rice." Any brand is okay, but I always check to make sure that it says jasmine. We like rice, so I buy 25-lb. sacks. One can probably get it in smaller sizes, but I haven't checked.

Do you have a rice cooker? That makes cooking rice really easy, and it turns out perfect every time.

JoAnn, great idea on the crockpot rice. I find myself in the mornings wondering just what to eat, and I need to be doing that at night. I have friends that do oatmeal in the crockpot overnight, but for me, rice sounds like just the ticket. And my kids would like it, too! Thanks again!!

I find that any rice is good, provided it is completely fiber free and very overcooked...

The only time I am concerned about rice is if it is "fortified". In that case, barley (which contains gluten) is sometimes used to make the vitamins adhere to the rice.

Here's some information about which rice is gluten-free: http://www.perskyfarms.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10121

Also, you can check on the manufacturer's website or call them.
