digestive enzymes/probiotics
anyone out there take a digestive enzyme/probiotic to help your bowels/digestion? i have been on entocort for 8 days now....i would not want to take anything yet, want to see if the entocort works on its own....but just curious if an added supplement might help at some point. right now i am only going 1-2 times a day (vs. 3-6) but i am still waiting for a normal bm....i hope it comes soon b/c i am getting tired of wondering what "it" will be like and a little anxious every time i go.....
I've never tried a probiotic, (other than yogurt), but I once tried an enzyme supplement. Within about an hour, I was nauseated, followed a little later by vomiting. It took me about 4 days to get completely straightened out, again, and back to normal. We all react differently to such things, though, so it's not likely that your reaction would be the same.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
I have been taking dairy-free Culturelle daily since March. I've recently reduced to one every other day. I believe part of my problem was a lack of good bacteria due to taking antibiotics. I'm hoping the good bacteria is more plentiful now. I've never noticed any difference between taking it and not taking it.
