gurgling/fizzy feeling

Post by willabec »

hi, new here....just diagnosed with mc a few weeks ago...also have celiac (anyone else out there have both- i am sure there is). one of my questions right now is does anyone have a gurgling/fizzy feeling on the left side, upper near the rib cage (sometimes it moves to lower left abdomen)? it drives me nuts...and it does not happen every day, but today, holy cow it was almost constant for the entire day! any thoughts? thanks!

When I was reacting, on some days my guts went through all sorts of contortions, including writhing like a snake, sometimes. Not everyone has that type of symptom, but it is somewhat common for MC.

We have about a half-dozen or so members with both MC and a celiac diagnosis, but I don't believe that any of them are currently posting, though one or two of them check in occasionally.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

oh yeah, many times. It is something you are eating. Make a food diary and then you will figure it out.

Yep, in the last month or so I've had the same symptoms. It can happen with normal bowels and with D; haven't got a clue as to why. I am assuming it is yet another intolerance; just got to to figure out what it is which should not be to difficult since I eat so very few foods. Ginny

I have both Celiac and MC!!! Welcome to the club! Yes, I get the gurgling - I can remember clearly a few years ago it being so loud at a meeting - luckily it was with church friends - I had eaten GF pasta, sauce, cheese - lots of cheese. Now, none of those are in my diet. I haven't had that in several days - since I took rice and butter out of my diet - not sure which started it, I'm afraid to find out! lol I am here if you need anything! Celiac was diagnosed Spring 2003, MC summer 2010. Good luck - Theresa in ME
