I was on it for two weeks, had somewhat less bowel movements, but had the worse side effects ever. I called my doc after two weeks and she told me to stop and start the pepto regiment which is what Im trying to do. This is so hard. I would call, expecially if the bowel movements havent changed much. Did you change your diet. I did with the two weeks of entocort, but couldnt deal with the side effects.
I would wait until Monday to call. Your doctor is just wanting a progress report, and the longer you wait to give it to him/her, the better your progress will be. He/she will be more likely to keep you on the Entocort if you are showing progress. If, like Lisa, you are having side effects, then you should notify the doctor sooner, of course.
Two weeks is not always long enough for Entocort to reduce the inflammation enough to see firm BMs. It took almost four weeks for me to show substantial improvement.
Patience is the name of the game when dealing with MC.

You never know what you can do until you have to do it.
I agree with Gloria. At only 2 weeks, the best one can expect is to not have any significant side effects, and your doctor just wants to make sure of that. The real benefits should start showing up during the next week or two.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

Willabec what I did was to go back to some very basic foods. chicken, white rice, fish, lamb and well cooked peas and carrots. After I was stable with that diet I slowly added only one thing back at a time while keeping a food diary. If something bothered me it was taken off of my list. After a while patterns emerged that showed that I had to remove soy gluten and for the most part dairy from my diet. Avoid all packaged and factory prepared foods, it is very difficult to know truly whats in them. Restaurants can also be a problem area as its hard for them to know whats in the bulk purchased foods as well.
With a bit of patience, you can gain control of the diet.
