Top-Visited Health Sites

Post by MBombardier »

I thought this was interesting from http://www.alexa.com:

Top Visited Health Sites:http://www.alexa.com/topsites/category/Top/Health

I plugged in "natural health" to search within the health category, and I was amazed at how many government and university sites came up in the top 20. Made me wonder if these are actually good sites to look at, or if their ranking comes from people not knowing where to look for good information.

I got the idea to do this from Joseph Mercola's recent e-mail talking about WebMD being in the pocket of Eli Lilly, and there being a call from Sen. Charles Grassley for the connection to be investigated.

Mercola has a list in this same e-mail of the top health and natural health sites on the internet according to Alexa, where his site is the top "natural health content" site and the third "health content" site. As you can see for yourself a neophyte like me is not going to replicate his list of results just by going to Alexa, his quoted source site.

I am going to :lurk: for several days, at least. I have to make up for the week I was gone not only in Christmas preparations, but we still have one last class before the holiday and I have to spend time evaluating how we did this semester in our home schooling so we hit the ground running in the new year.

So I'll be around, but not posting...

Hi!

I have not trusted Eli Lilly for a long time. Many years ago I owned some of their stock. Just before a national election they sent letters to their stockholders actually telling us which candidate to vote for. I sold the stock immediately, and now would not own any big pharma if my life depended on it.

Marliss, will miss you! Have fun lurking!

Love,

Polly
