Thought I'd share my latest PP story with you all. I had bacon with breakfast today (going for those calories), which I haven't indulged in for quite some time, so when I was at the grocery store accompanied by my little Naty (5 yrs. old) I had a fire hose D emergency call. Naty was waiting for me by the sinks, while I was "taking care of business". It was quite bad, so I was hoping and praying no one else would come in. Well, of course they did, and every time someone new came in, Naty happily announced "my grandma is on the potty" . Good thing I've learned not to take myself too seriously!!!
Love,
Kari
P.S. In case you wonder, I feel great, have not had another BM since the grocery store "explosion"
Now that's what memories are made of. Where else could you share something that precious, and know that everyone truly understands? Thanks for making my day.
Love,
Tex
And I'm glad to hear that you may have "turned the corner".
It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
Linda - yep - even though it was the thin sliced Applegate gluten and casein free kind (no antibiotics and no nitrites or nitrates added) I think I simply ate more slices than my system could tolerate due to the high fat content.

Kari,
LOL! If it were my kids, they'd announce "My Mommy has DIARRHEA" and start cracking up. Or they'd say "Mom's dropping a deuce!" Then my 3 yr old might pop her head under the other stalls, with me yelling at her, powerless from the toilet. Then they might play with the soap and water, maybe even leave the bathroom. So I usually have to lock them in the stall with me and beg them not to unlock the door. I can't remember the last time I was able to use a public bathroom without my kids in the stall with me. They've seen it all. They also analyze everything I eat or what we buy, asking if it has gluten or milk in it. Their concern is very cute. At least it won't be foreign to them when their genes get triggered someday!!
Interestingly, I've noticed that shopping causes urgent bathroom breaks for me. Especially at Target or in department stores. I think it's a combo of the smells - the chemicals on the newly manufactured goods and the perfumes, the bright lights, maybe the stress of doing something I don't enjoy with crowds of people all around.
Oh, and how I share your love of bacon. I love the thick-cut uncured stuff, extra crispy.
I share your discomfort in bright, giant stores. For me it's mostly the fluorescent light that bothers me. However, I have just discovered the most amazing trick to deal with it - SUNGLASSES !!!!! Yep, I walk around in the mall with my cool sunglasses on. It eliminates all the unbearable glare, and actually makes me feel protected in my own little bubble . Normally, I wouldn't go near a mall, but we have some very nice ones here in Colorado, complete with playrooms, carousels, etc. And with my 3 grandchildren - I cannot avoid them (especially around the holidays). However, with my sunglasses firmly attached to my face, I'm actually starting to quite enjoy those outings .
Love,
Kari
P.S. I have to say that as grandmother I'm 100% more relaxed with the kids than I was with my son, and the kids seem to respect me a whole lot more ........
