almost leaving
I am almost leaving, tomorrow this time I will be back in Holland, not home yet, probably somewhere between Amsterdan and Groningen, two friends and my sister will be at the airport waiting for me (if there is not too much snow on the roads).
Most of my stuff is packed, one smaller suitcase stays here with all my summer clothes and some other stuff (again it is amazing how much "other" stuff I already have been collecting over the last three monts) and the bigger goes home with me.I
I have ordered a taxi at 4.45 am (yes in morning so early). I hope this will work out well. No experience yet with ordering taxi's here, you normally leave your house and just hope you find someone soon (which works very well here).
It is already three and half monts before I came here, time flies. Not that it were very easy months. But the mission is accomplished. I wanted to find out if I would could live here and build up a future. I think I can. That will be the goal of my next stay here. The plan is to return in about four to six weeks.

HI Harma,
It hardly seems that it has been 3 months since you moved there and now you have the thrill of going home for the holidays. It is amazing how much we can acquire even when we say we are not going to buy or get stuff. I have made it a point now to do closets and drawers every 6 months. Not used and out to recycle it goes.
I wish you the best of holidays and so hope your journey home goes very well. If I was there, I would be happy to take you to the airport. I am always up no later than 4:00 AM.
Love, Maggie

Harma, have a safe and pleasant journey home. I am glad to hear that you are satisfied with your stay and have acheived the goals you set. Are you giving up your apartment there? Look forward to hearing from you from Holland.

I made it to home, left this morning at 4.45 am and arrived at home 6.30 pm, so a more than 12 hours travel. Plane trip went perfect, only the way from the airport to home took a bit longer than normal, since there was a lot of snow. It spent as much time in the car as in the plane, both 5 hours (normally a 2 to 2,5 hrs drive), I can tell you it is very very very strange to arrive in your home after almost 4 months. It is my home, but does not feel like home anymore (it will probably take a couple of days) and it is really cold here comparing to amman.
Will get myself some food do some unpacking en go to bed real early tonight.

HI Harma:
From the television news, it sounds like things are pretty much a mess over in Europe because of all the snow. I am glad your flight wasn't cancelled like so many others have been, eg into London or Paris. Hopefully Holland is a little bit more prepared to deal with the snow than other places.
Have a wonderful Christmas visit with family and friends. Enjoy the old familiar things, and the comforts of home, while you have them!
