bowels part II
ok....i posted about a week ago asking why my bm's were soft piles...well, after that post, things got much better, almost normal, more formed bm's...just spoke to my dr. yesterday, giving him an update on me being on entocort (almost 4 weeks i think), told him things were a bit better, etc. well then....why this morning was it a soft pile again?? what the heck??!!
Believe it or not, because you're too impatient to see remission.
Seriously, it takes time for the intestines to heal. You're doing fine, you just need more time to heal.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

tex, i know, i am a bit inpatient....but it's hard, especially when things were quite a bit better even though it was for about a week and then it went a little backwards....
and linda....still don't know what is questionable. pretty much have not changed my diet too much, so it's a bit confusing. hopefully i will figure this out. this is the first day i went 3 times - it has been 1-2 times a day....still good i know but it seems like i'm going backwards a bit. and yes, it is only one day, but as you know one day is alot!

Hi Willabec, if there is one thing MC has taught me its patience....patience & patience. This is a long term condition with ups and downs. There will be times when you feel pretty good and times when you seem to go backwards a bit.
Overall you need to judge your progress over months not days or even weeks. Kind of like loosing weight, you don't want to weigh yourself every day it will drive you nuts...
Hang in there Willabec, if you stick with the diet and any meds you might be taking things will improve. Don't worry about setbacks, they can and most likely will happen from time to time. Even after 9 months of this I still have some bad times. The good news is as I have learned what foods affect me there are fewer bad days.
Take care & Merry Christmas Willabec

Willabec,
You sound like me! After my two week checkup with my GI - telling her things were looking better on the Apriso - I went backwards. I did start the SCD diet too - but, for me, it was stress again!!! And I added too many foods too fast - as always, I'm so impatient. The holiday season is a wonderful time of year, but it can be a stressful time of year too - maybe that's all it is too - especially if you kept your foods the same. I hope things improve quickly for you.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy Healthy New Year - with lots of happy bm's.
