Headaches?

Post by IDreamInColor »

Just wondering if anyone else experiences daily headaches and if it could possibly be from the mc? I've had daily headaches non stop for over 5 years. Sometimes I'll get a day or two break here and there, but then it rages on. They seem to be getting worse, I haven't had a days break from it since before Thanksgiving. Tylenol does absolutely nothing for it.

Once ruling everything else out.. my most useful treatment for headaches has been .. relax and drink a little of the lemon lime gatorade that has been so helpful in eliminating my leg cramps.

I did, when I was reacting. The GF diet, and healing, ended all that. Since being in remission, I haven't had a headache in years.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.

As my D has gotten worse over the past few years, so have my headaches. Actually, when I flipped from chronic constipation to chronic D ten years ago I started getting more headaches. More often and lasting longer, to the point it's normal to have a headache all the time - it's rare that I don't. However, I have hormonal headaches/migraines, and have stabbing headaches that might be related to a head injury, so those might contribute to the pretty much 24/7 headache.

As for pain control the only thing that helps is Tylenol #3, but that causes constipation so I don't take it. Maxalt is the best thing for migraines for me, but I've been taking Imitrex since the most recent flare started (last spring) because that's what I have on hand and it's much cheaper. It gives me D, though

The reason I take the gatorade when I have D is that the electrolytes get out of balance and that is when I get a headache.

The best thing I have done for headaches is myofascial release. I found a great physical therapist who has helped me in many ways. He got rid of the headaches almost immediately and has also helped with some of my muscle and joint pain. I am so glad to find a non-drug treatment for some of the pain. My neurologist goes to him for her headaches....

I know how irritating those pesky headaches can be....

I rarely get a headache, but when I do, it's usually because I'm getting dehydrated. When I increase my fluids, the headache goes away.
